So, you see, there is a feeling of excitement brewing in London. Infact, I can think of three hotspots in particular where there is an almost palpable sense of anticipation. In Wimbledon, Peckham and Thames Ditton excitement is reaching a fever pitch. It has been nearly 2 whole months since we visited northern climes.

A lot has changed since then. For a few bleak weeks the whole country was turned into what can only be described as a giant snow globe. So we all got what we had wished for...a white Christmas (sort of) but that didn't stop us moaning. Moaning is what we do best.

We all saw the dawn of a new year: 2011. Although many of us (you know who you are) have no recollection of the events leading up to it...
Having successfully managed to obliterate most memories of the last few hours of 2010 the only lingering images that can be recalled are those of: calling our parents at ridiculous o'clock, rescuing discarded Christmas trees (abandoning them on the streets on the 1st January is just too damned soon if you ask me), cooking a special kind of fry-up, paper eating, and the presence of some kind of grizzly bears (god knows?!)

I know that many of you have been, and still are, labouring under the black cloud of revision, essays and exams. My heart goes out to you.
AND don't even get me started on us poor wankers that have had to actually pretend to be real people and to adjust to the daily 9 to 5 existence. Let's face it, all of us would much rather spend our days cracking on in a basement somewhere in Hyde Park.
BUT... although January is essentially a bitch of a month. The 'come down' from Christmas, if you will. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. And that light is getting ever nearer.
Leeds, we are coming for you...

EXCELLENT WORK MY SPIGGINS xxxx
